Violations to the Yemen ceasefire in its first 24 hours of implementation:

Violations registered against foreign territory:

205 attacks recorded against Saudi borderline cities of Jizan and Najraan

Violations registered within Yemen territory:
265 in the city of Taiz
116 in the Jaawf region
124 in the city of Marib
144 in Daleh governorate
48 in Hajjeh governorate
41 in Al Bayda
24 in Shabwah

Insurgency militias staged all transgressions through systematic firing of heavy to medium and low caliber arms. Projectile and sniper activity was also recorded.

Warring parties in Yemen had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire that took effect shortly before midnight Oct.18– The Gulf nation has descended into chaos after local Houthi Iran-backed militias staged a coup against the constitutionally elected government in 2014.

The insurgency’s routine violation to prior humanitarian ceasefires made observers skeptic on this truce turning out any different. Political analysts believe that Houthi militias have no say in their own commitment to announced armistice—when it comes to the insurgency’s decision-making process, Iran still holds great influence fostered by its support for the group.
