Pianist Boganyi Performs in Riyadh, Jeddah

Riyadh – On Tuesday, Riyadh witnessed the performance of the Hungarian pianist Gergely Boganyi playing the works of famous musicians, such as Johann Bach, Schubert, Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin at a classical musical evening.

The evening, organized by Awtar Association and under the supervision of the Saudi Culture and Arts Society, was attended by a number of music enthusiasts. It was part of an international tour by the musician.

The Culture and Arts Society in Riyadh sent invitations to its members and those interested in music to attend the concert. Saudi General Authority for Entertainment also sponsored the evening.

Head of Culture and Arts Society Sultan al-Bazei stressed the importance of such musical evenings. He stated that the society had signed a memorandum of understanding with music institute of Boganyi to offer opportunities for Saudi students to study classical music.

Bazei mentioned that the goal is to reach 20 slots for Saudi female and male students to help promote classical music in the country and increase their interest in such style.

Boganyi will hold his second concert in Jeddah Friday evening.

Born in 1974, Boganyi comes from a musical family. He is one of the leading pianists of his generation, having begun playing the piano at the age of four.
