Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Concludes Visit to USA

Saudi

Washington – Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, concluded his visit to Washington, DC on Friday.

Pentagon Spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis explained that Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis met with the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince at the Pentagon.

“The meeting followed Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s meeting with President Trump at the White House on Tuesday.”

“Secretary Mattis and the deputy crown prince affirmed the importance of the US-Saudi Arabia defense relationship, and discussed the security environment in the Middle East, to include confronting Iran’s destabilizing regional activities, and US-Saudi Arabia military cooperation in defeating ISIS and other transnational terrorist organizations,” Davis said.

“The two leaders stated they looked forward to deepening the US-Saudi Arabia defense partnership and continuing to work closely together,” he concluded.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a cable of gratitude for the US President following his trip.

“I am pleased as I am leaving your friendly country after the end of my visit to extend to your Excellency my deep gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to me and my accompanying delegation,” the Deputy Crown Prince said.

Prince Mohammed praised again the “historical and strategic relations between our two countries witnessing further development in all fields.”

He also stressed that the extended discussions held during the visit with the President and the US senior officials will contribute to deepen and strengthen these relations and enhance the bonds of mutual cooperation to achieve the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Trump.

He said that these talks will also contribute in achieving stability, security and peace in the region and the world.
