The Saudi-led Arab coalition said on Wednesday that Saudi defenses shot down a ballistic missile that was fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards the Kingdom.

The projectile was aimed at the Jazan region.

Three days ago, the defenses downed two armed drones launched by the Houthis towards the southern region of the Kingdom.

The coalition said it was taking the necessary operational measures to protect civilians from hostile attacks.

The terrorist Houthis have persisted in carrying out ballistic missile and armed drone attacks against Saudi Arabia in defiance of Arab and international calls for a ceasefire in Yemen.
