Kuwait – Kuwait’s First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said his country fully supported efforts deployed by the Kingdom of Bahrain to fight terrorism.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled received Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa, who conducted an official visit to Kuwait to co-chair the Kuwaiti-Bahraini joint supreme cooperation committee meeting, which was held on Sunday.
More than 51 representatives of various sectors from both countries participated in the meeting, which was aimed to enhance the ongoing cooperation between both nations in all fields.
The committee was established in September 2001. The Bahraini capital hosted the previous meeting in December 2014.
In remarks during the session, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled reiterated Kuwait’s support to Bahrain in fighting terrorism and eradicating its sources.
He also lauded the outcome of the joint meeting, which he said was held in the wake of highly complex international and regional circumstances, “which necessitate unifying efforts among Gulf and Arab countries to overcome challenges ahead.”
For his part, Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa underlined the importance of “brotherly, historic and consolidated relations between the two countries,” noting that both leaderships were looking forward towards achieving more cooperation on the different levels.
The meeting concluded with the signing of seven documents between the two countries, including three memoranda of accord on cooperation in the fields of government and legislative authority, electricity and central markets.
Three executive programs were signed in the field of education, culture and environment protection, in addition to the minutes of the meeting.
