Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Al-Budaiwi said that the world must unite and stand firmly against unjust actions taken against the Palestinian people.
The GCC chief made his remarks on International Day of Peace, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City.
Al-Budaiwi said that the Palestinian people’s struggles and aspirations for peace and a brighter future must be the ties that bind us all as humans.
He expressed his deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab League, the European Union (EU), and the vital cooperation of Egypt and Jordan in this regard.
According to SPA, he further highlighted that the GCC has stood by the Palestinian people for years in solid pursuit of peace.

"The GCC has collaborated actively with the United States, the EU, and several nations to endorse a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region based on the principles set forth by UN resolutions," Al-Budaiwi said.
He emphasized the importance of full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions concerning the Palestinian cause.
Meanwhile, Al-Budaiwi denounced Israeli measures aiming to change the demographic composition and status of the occupied Palestinian territories.
He called for successive Israeli governments to take real steps toward achieving peace with the Palestinian people, including engaging sincerely in political dialogue.
He also highlighted the necessity to refrain from adopting measures that further escalate the conflict and provoke the Palestinian people, including continued building of new illegal settlements and ignoring the international calls for engagement in peace talks.
