Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a series of telephone talks on Friday with his counterparts from Indonesia, Malta and Albania.

He held talks with Indonesia’s FM Retno Marsudi on the latest developments Gaza and the surrounding areas.

They tackled international efforts and joint coordination to stop the military escalation and lifting the siege on coastal enclave.

They underlined the importance of intensifying communication with the international community to carry out its responsibility toward reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

They stressed the need for United Nations and Security Council resolutions to be respected and the importance of reaching urgent solutions to bring medical and relief aid to the Palestinian people.

Prince Faisal and Maltese Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg discussed developments in Gaza and its surroundings.

They expressed their rejection of targeting civilians in any form and the need for all parties to respect international humanitarian law.

As a non-permanent member of the Security Council, Prince Faisal urged Malta to work to ensure that the council fulfills its responsibility to maintain international peace and security by pushing for an immediate cessation of military operations and lifting the siege on Gaza.

He stressed the importance of the council’s implementation of its decisions regarding the Palestinian issue, particularly Resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973), 1515 (2003), and 2334 (2016), to establish a just and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant international references.

Talks between Prince Faisal and Albanian Minister of European and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani also focused on the crisis in Gaza.

Saudi Arabia Condemns Terrorist Attack in Mogadishu, Somalia

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack in Mogadishu, the capital of the Federal Republic of Somalia, which resulted in the death and injury of tens of people.
In a statement, it said the Kingdom affirm its position of rejecting violence, extremism, and targeting civilians.

The Kingdom also asserts that it stands with the government and people of the Federal Republic of Somalia in this incident, SPA reported.

The statement further said that the Kingdom expresses its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the government and people of Somalia, and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.
