The Arab Parliament stated rejection and condemnation of any proposals to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, SPA said on Thursday.

“There is no return to the Nakba scenario again, and Gaza is Palestinian land and will remain Palestinian land and part of the fully sovereign Palestinian state,” the Arab Parliament said in a statement.

It described as “barbaric” the racist statements issued by some extremist ministers in the Israeli government calling for the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, the reoccupation of the Gaza Strip, and the construction of settlements.

The Parliament emphasized that Israeli statements reflect the racist nature of the occupation forces and fuel tension and conflict in the region, representing a blatant violation of the International and humanitarian laws.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community to counter forced displacement plans, stop the genocidal war against the Palestinian people and grant them their basic humanitarian needs, lift the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces, activate international accountability mechanisms towards the Israeli government, and hold their extremist leaders accountable as war criminals.

In a historic first for Kuwait, the Attorney General appointed four women to lead prosecution departments on Sunday.

Attorney General Saad Al-Safran reshuffled several positions, promoting four women to senior roles in the general and specialized prosecution offices, including the complaints office.

This is the first time women have held such positions.

The newly appointed directors are Munira Al-Wuqayan (media prosecution), Noura Al-Othman (Farwaniya prosecution), Ghanima Al-Sarrawi (Hawally prosecution), and Nouf Al-Saeed (juvenile prosecution).

Kuwaiti women gained voting rights in 2005, and in the same year, the country appointed its first female minister, Dr. Maasouma Al-Mubarak.

In 2020, women also became judges for the first time, despite initial public debate.

Eight women were sworn in as judges after an agreement between the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Judicial Council, supported by a legal ruling from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

This followed the acceptance of 20 women into the Public Prosecution six years earlier.
