The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Saturday the UN Security Council resolution, adopted by a majority, calling for a cessation of hostilities in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement, the ministry said the Kingdom hopes that all Sudanese parties will comply with the resolution in order to preserve Sudan and the lives of its people.
It also stressed the spirituality of the month of Ramadan and renewed its call on all parties to comply with the outcome of the Jeddah talks, which helps the Sudanese people by working to conclude a draft agreement to stop hostilities and resolve the crisis through political dialogue to achieve stability and prosperity in the country.
