The 43rd and 44th Saudi relief planes, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, arrived in Egypt on Wednesday.

The aircraft are carrying shelter items that will be transported to the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The assistance is in keeping with Saudi Arabia's historic role in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in times of crisis.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi stressed on Monday the need to address and bolster stability and security in the region, foremost of which is the dire situation in the Gaza Strip.

He made his remarks as he received in Riyadh a European Parliament delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs, headed by David McAllister.

The officials reviewed joint files and the progress of cooperation between the GCC and the European Union (EU), ways to deepen the strategic partnership between them in various fields, and regional and international issues of common interest.

On Gaza, Albudaiwi underlined the need for cooperation and coordination to work towards an immediate ceasefire, as well as to activate all relevant international and UN resolutions that will help in protecting people and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.
