OIC Strongly Condemns Israeli Knesset's Resolution Rejecting Palestinian State

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of a bill rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, the Saudi Press Agency said on Thursday.
The OIC described this as a continuation of the colonial occupation's policies and its ongoing violations of the Palestinian people's rights, in blatant defiance of international law principles and relevant United Nations resolutions.
In this regard, the organization reiterated its firm support for the two-state solution and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards ending the Israeli occupation and achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region. Additionally, it urged the empowerment of the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate national rights, including their right to return, self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, added SPA.
The OIC also condemned the incursion of the extremist minister in the Israeli occupation government into the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
It reiterated its condemnation of all Israeli occupation policies aimed at changing the geographic and demographic reality in the occupied city of Jerusalem and attempts to undermine the existing historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque, affirming the shared responsibility to defend it and work towards its return to Palestinian sovereignty as an integral part of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 and the capital of the State of Palestine.
The organization affirmed its support for all efforts exerted by the State of Palestine to mobilize the international community's responsibility, including activating the mechanisms of international justice to hold Israel, the occupying power, accountable for its war crimes and genocide and to rectify the historical injustice that continues to be inflicted on the Palestinian people.
On the other hand, the organization strongly condemned the measures taken by the Israeli occupation authorities aimed at undermining the status and role of UNRWA through intensifying direct attacks on its facilities, targeting its employees, and obstructing its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory. It considers this an extension of the Israeli severe violations of the UN Charter and its resolutions and its agreement on privileges and immunities.
The organization reaffirmed its decisions issued by successive summits and ministerial councils, calling for continued work with international actors to halt the ongoing Israeli military aggression against the Palestinian people throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, especially in the Gaza Strip, and called on all countries that have not recognized the State of Palestine to do so and support its right to full membership in the United Nations.

On Thursday, Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed into Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site.
Moreover, the Knesset passed a resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.
