Nine people were killed, including six protesters and a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, during demonstrations took place in the Isfahan region on Monday, said official state television.

A pedestrian and a member of the police were among the victims of the fifth day of protests that have been raging in Iran since Thursday.

State TV reported that six people were killed during an attack on a police station in the town of Qahdarijan.

It also added an 11-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were killed in the town of Khomeinishahr, while a member of the Revolutionary Guards was killed in the town of Najafabad.

It said all three were shot by hunting rifles, which are common in the Iranian countryside.

Meanwhile, in Tehran alone, 450 protesters have been arrested in the last three days, the semi-official ILNA news agency reported Tuesday.

ILNA quoted Ali Asghar Nasserbakht, a security deputy governor of Tehran, as saying security forces arrested 200 protesters Saturday, 150 Sunday and 100 Monday.

The government said it was temporarily restricting access to the Telegram messaging app and Instagram. There were reports that internet mobile access was blocked in some areas.

Police in China said Tuesday that 35 people were killed and another 43 injured when a driver rammed his car into people exercising at a sports center in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai.

The 62-year-old driver was detained, police said earlier Monday. It was not immediately clear whether it was an attack or an accident. No motive was mentioned, and police said investigations continued.

The sports center for the city district of Xiangzhou regularly attracts hundreds of residents, where they can run on the track field, play soccer and social dance. Following the incident, the center announced it would be closed until further notice.

The incident took place on the eve of the country's biggest air show in Zhuhai.

The air show runs to Nov. 17.
