Saudi Crown Prince to Meet with Trump, Putin, May at G20 on Saturday

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, is scheduled to hold talks in Osaka on Saturday with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May.

The Saudi royal was in Osaka to head the Kingdom’s delegation at the G20 summit. He had arrived in the city on Thursday after carrying out an official two-day visit to South Korea.

Bloomberg news said that the Crown Prince and Trump will have breakfast on 8:30 am on Saturday on the sidelines of the summit. Trump is then set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

A spokeswoman for May said that she and the Crown Prince are set to discuss the situation in the Gulf and the crisis in Yemen.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov had on Tuesday revealed that preparations were underway for a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed and Putin on June 29.

Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, said on Tuesday that the Kingdom implemented a comprehensive security campaign that successfully dealt with drug-related crimes.
He said the campaign entailed coordinated security plans involving all concerned parties.
Dawood, who led the Kingdom's delegation to the 2nd Baghdad International Conference on Countering Narcotics 2024 held in Iraq on Monday, stressed the need to strengthen efforts among the participating nations to control the spread of narcotics and to discuss mechanisms to stop drug trafficking.
He emphasized that countering smuggling and drug trafficking fall in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 top priorities.
Dawood highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to dealing with the dangers posed by drugs to the security and stability of society by harnessing national capabilities to raise the society's awareness to this threat.
