Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz offered on Thursday Saudi Arabia’s help to Australia as it combats its worst ever bushfires.

In a telephone call with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, King Salman said the Kingdom was prepared to help Australia overcome its disaster.

He offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery, saying Saudi Arabia and its people stand in solidarity with Australia in its plight.

Twenty-seven people have been killed and thousands subjected to repeat evacuations as monster - and unpredictable – fires have scorched through more than 10.3 million hectares (25.5 million acres) of land, an area the size of South Korea, since the start of October.
