Kuwait’s prime minister assured the cabinet and citizens that Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah’s health has significantly improved while receiving medical treatment in the US.

This came during a virtual cabinet meeting held on Monday, according to state news agency KUNA.

For his part, Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Humoud Al-Sabah briefed the ministers about the general health status in the country over the new coronavirus pandemic.

He went over statistical figures of the casualties, recoveries and patients receiving treatment for COVID-19.

Also, the Kuwaiti cabinet expressed their sincere congratulations for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his recovery and discharge from hospital following a successful operation.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's government urged citizens wishing to travel to acquire health insurance to cover costs of treatment in case of infections or accidents. It also said citizens and expatriates returning to Kuwait should provide a PCR test 72 hours before their arrival date; and that they should spend 14 days in home quarantine following their arrival.

The government took note of a regulation by the civil aviation directorate (DGCA) about non-Kuwaiti passengers from 31 countries who were not allowed to enter Kuwait whether flying directly or via transit from other countries unless they met certain criteria.

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman held talks in Tehran on Thursday with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“Ties with Saudi Arabia are beneficial for both countries and we can complement each other,” Khamenei was quoted as saying by Iran’s Tasnim news agency,

The meeting was attended by chief of staff of Iran's Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri.

Prince Khalid’s visit comes amid major regional and international developments.

Saudi and Iranian officials are set to sit down for talks on a number of issues, while Prince Khalid will hold several meetings focused on bilateral relations between Riyadh and Tehran.
