King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) delivered on Monday to the National Program for Medicinal Supply at the Yemeni Ministry of Health the fourth and fifth batches of medical aid.

The aid aims to support and improve the Yemeni Ministry's capabilities to combat the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in various Yemeni governorates.

The fourth and fifth batches included protective masks (N95 masks), regular masks, gloves, protective clothing, intravenous fluids, artificial respirators, and other supplies such as disinfectants and sterilizers, in addition to thermal cameras, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The deputy Governor for valley and desert affairs in Hadramout, Essam Habrish al-Kuthairy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince for their continuous support for the health sector in Yemen, especially during the outbreak.

The Iraqi prime minister's foreign affairs adviser, Farhad Alaaeldin, told a local Iraqi TV channel on Wednesday that the waiver guaranteed by the United States on importing Iranian gas has not been revoked and is still in effect.

The exemption on imported power, though, has been cancelled, Alaaeldin said, Reuters reported.

Alaaeldin said most Iraqi power plants run on gas from Iran, with 43% of Iraq's electricity generated by the gas imported from its neighbour to the east.

Still, the US was encouraging Iraq to secure gas from other sources, Alaaeldin said.

"The American administration says ... diversify your import sources. Go to other countries."
