Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Hopes Peace is Restored in Yemen Based on Riyadh Agreement

Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman said Tuesday that the Kingdom is looking forward to the establishment of “comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen through the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement”.

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, he said: “We look forward to the day when the Yemen crisis is resolved” and for the country to return to the Arab fold.

Prince Khalid also expressed Riyadh’s support to the efforts of United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, in ensuring the success of his “joint declaration” proposal.

Syria’s Sharaa Makes First Visit to the UAE

President of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa made his first visit to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday where he held talks with UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The UAE President reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people as they navigate the transitional period and rebuild their country in line with their aspirations for a secure, stable, and prosperous future, WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated the UAE’s unwavering stance in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Syrian president discussed with Al Nahyan several matters of joint interest between the two countries, SANA news agency reported.
