Kuwait's civil aviation authority added the United Kingdom to its high-risk list of countries on Sunday, meaning all flights from it are banned, the authority wrote on Twitter.

In August, Kuwait banned commercial flights to 31 countries which it deemed a high risk due to the spread of the coronavirus.

The World Health Organization is in close contact with British officials over a new COVID-19 virus variant, it said on Sunday, advising people to be on guard against spreading the disease.

Several European countries placed restrictions on travel to and from the UK due to concern over the new strain, which is spreading rapidly there.

The Muslim World League (MWL) on Sunday praised Saudi Arabia’s decision to provide monthly financial support to the Palestinians to help address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings.
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, lauded this historic initiative, which he said stems from the centrality of the Palestinian cause to Saudi Arabia.
This initiative expresses the Kingdom’s firm historical solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly to mitigate the catastrophic impacts caused by the appalling abuses of the Israeli occupation government, Al-Issa noted.
On behalf of the MWL and its international councils, bodies and assemblies, Al-Issa appreciated Saudi Arabia’s exceptional efforts to contain the crisis in Gaza and address the critical humanitarian situation there.
“Saudi Arabia was able to unify the Arab and Islamic position towards this crisis by chairing the ministerial committee assigned by the joint Arab Islamic extraordinary summit to support Palestinians, confront the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and break the siege imposed on it,” the MWL Secretary-General added.
He said this resulted in a number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine and demanding that it be accepted as a full member of the United Nations.
“May God reward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia,” Al-Issa said, wishing Saudi Arabia security and prosperity.
