Mohamed bin Zayed, Turkish President Discuss Bilateral Ties in Phone Call

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have reviewed the prospects of reinforcing relations between the two nations in a way that serves their common interests, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported Monday.

During a phone conversation, Sheikh Mohamed and Erdogan exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of interest, WAM said.

GCC Condemns Israeli Attacks on Syria

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi strongly condemned on Wednesday Israel’s attacks on Syria.

"The attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Syria, a breach of international laws and norms, and a serious threat to regional security and stability," he stressed.

The continuation of these attacks by are “reckless escalation and a disregard for the international community's efforts to achieve security and stability in Syria and the region,” he added.

He underscored the GCC's “firm position in support of Syria's unity and territorial integrity, and its complete rejection of any external interference that undermines its sovereignty or exacerbates the suffering of its people.”

Albudaiwi called on the international community “to assume its responsibilities to stop these violations, hold the perpetrators accountable, and work diligently to protect the Syrian people and preserve their sovereignty in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.”
