Saudi Defenses Shoot Down Hostile Aerial Target Fired at Taif

The Saudi Defense Ministry said on Monday the Kingdom's defenses intercepted and downed a hostile aerial target fired at Taif city in western Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry said the threat was launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen.

The necessary deterrent operations will be taken to neutralize the threat and protect civilians, it stressed.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, held separate talks in Mina on Saturday with President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and President of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

The meetings focused on bilateral relations and prospects for deeper cooperation between their countries.

The leaders also exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
