The Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, Dr. Anwar Gargash, discussed on Tuesday the situation in Yemen with David Gressly, UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, and US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking.

The meeting touched upon international efforts to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis that would end the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs also attended the talks.

Gargash highlighted the UAE's support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution that includes all Yemeni parties to ensure the establishment of stability and peace and strengthen prospects for prosperity and development in Yemen.

He then welcomed the formation of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, expressing hope that this step would contribute to advancing peace efforts through serious dialogue that addresses all matters related to the Yemeni crisis.

Saudi Interior Ministry Highlights Successful Efforts at Countering Narcotics

Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, said on Tuesday that the Kingdom implemented a comprehensive security campaign that successfully dealt with drug-related crimes.
He said the campaign entailed coordinated security plans involving all concerned parties.
Dawood, who led the Kingdom's delegation to the 2nd Baghdad International Conference on Countering Narcotics 2024 held in Iraq on Monday, stressed the need to strengthen efforts among the participating nations to control the spread of narcotics and to discuss mechanisms to stop drug trafficking.
He emphasized that countering smuggling and drug trafficking fall in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 top priorities.
Dawood highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to dealing with the dangers posed by drugs to the security and stability of society by harnessing national capabilities to raise the society's awareness to this threat.
