Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel launched on Sunday the World Health Forum and an exhibition, which will be held from October 9-11 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

More than 26,000 people from 30 countries are expected to attend the event which represents the largest forum for healthcare professionals in the world, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The forum aims to create integration between the public and private sectors, provide investment opportunities, enable dialogue aimed at achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and advance digital transformation in the healthcare sector, SPA said.

On the sidelines of the World Health Forum, Al-Jalajel met with officials from the private health sector and representatives of small and medium enterprises, insurance companies, and local pharmaceutical factories to develop the relationship and raise awareness on the role of investment in the health sector with partners, it added.

During the opening ceremony, Al-Jalajel announced that there are over 100 partnership projects with the private sector in health services planned over the next five years with estimated capital investment opportunities by the private sector of around SR48 billion.

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday appointed the CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Mansour Ibrahim al-Mahmoud, as the country's next minister of health.

The Emir appointed Mohammed Saif Saeed al Suwaidi as QIA's next CEO.

As part of Tuesday's cabinet shuffle, Qatar's Emir also appointed Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani as the country's new minister of commerce and industry.
Sheikh Faisal is QIA's chief of Asia-Pacific and Africa investments and the chairman of Qatari telecoms group Ooredoo. It is unclear if he will remain in those roles.
The Emir appointed Lolwah bint Rashid Al-Khater as the new education minister. She served previously as minister of state for international cooperation and led Qatar's global humanitarian efforts, especially in Gaza and Lebanon.
