The Saudi-led Arab coalition said Sunday that it had destroyed a booby-trapped vessel off the coast of Hodeidah in Yemen, thwarting an imminent attack in the Red Sea.

The coalition said it had destroyed 106 booby-trapped vessels so far in the southern Red Sea.

"Our efforts have helped protect international marine routes and shipping lanes," it stressed.

Earlier on Sunday, the coalition said Saudi defenses had shot down nine armed drones fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards Jizan, Khamis Mushait, al-Taif, Yanbu and Dhahran al-Janub.

The coalition revealed the Houthis had used Iranian cruise missiles to attack a desalination plant in Al-Suqaiq and an Aramco petroleum distribution plant in Jizan.

Official Spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki said Wednesday that a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward Riyadh was intercepted and destroyed.

Earlier Wednesday, the General Directorate of Civil Defense stated that its teams in Riyadh responded on Tuesday to falling debris from two cruise missiles launched by the Houthis after they were intercepted and destroyed.

Four people were injured — two women, a man, and a child — and 15 homes sustained limited material damage. Standard procedures for such incidents were followed.

On Tuesday, the Coalition intercepted several ballistic and cruise missiles, and drones.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz held on Tuesday a telephone call with Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

They reviewed military and defense cooperation between their countries and discussed ways to support regional security and stability.

They also condemned the terrorist attacks launched by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received on Tuesday separate phone calls from Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The ministers discussed the latest developments in the region and renewed their condemnation of the heinous attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia targeting civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia.

The calls also covered regional developments and the importance of continued efforts, coordination, and consultations among their countries to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation and preserve regional security and stability.
