Sudan on Tuesday suspended the work of Al Arabiya, Al Hadath and Sky News Arabia, Sudanese state news agency (SUNA) said.
A statement issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Culture and Information announced the suspension of the channels and said it directed the relevant authorities to take the necessary action and put the decision into effect, SUNA reported.
The bureau chief of the Al Arabiya Arabic office in Sudan said the channel was not officially notified of the decision and is unaware of the precise timing of the suspension.
“We reject accusations of unprofessionalism and we have been covering since the beginning of the war,” she said.
The bureau chief also confirmed that the licenses for offices of Al Arabiya and Al Hadath in Sudan have been renewed periodically.
