Jordan welcomed the United Nations Security Council statement issued on August 7, which condemned the missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as the attacks targeting commercial vessels since July 22.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the significance of the statement, which underscored the need to uphold international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216, SPA reported.
It rejected actions that threaten regional security and the freedom of navigation.
The ministry reiterated Jordan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia, as well as its backing for all measures taken to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and stability, and protect the safety of its citizens and residents.
