The volume of real estate transactions in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province reached SAR36 billion ($9.6 billion) by the end of Q3 of 2023, revealed Abdullah Saud Al-Hammad, CEO of the Real Estate General Authority.
Al-Hammad pointed out that real estate activities have contributed to 6.1% of the GDP according to the statistics of Q2 of 2023, and their contributions to non-oil activities reached 12.7%.
The CEO emphasized that the unlimited support from the Saudi leadership for the real estate sector has enhanced its efficiency, organization, and governance through real estate legislation, making it a significant contributor to the overall GDP.
During his participation in the Restatex Eastern Region Real Estate Exhibition 2023, Al-Hammad explained that the Eastern Region has witnessed growth in its real estate indicators.
The volume of real estate transactions in the region from the start of 2023 until the end of Q3 recorded nearly 28,000 real estate transactions, representing an increase of over 5% compared to the same period last year.
Of these transactions, 45% are commercial properties and 39% are residential properties. Real estate brokerage activity in the Eastern Region has seen over 3,785 real estate brokers licensed from establishments and individuals.
Al-Hammad explained that documented lease contracts in the Eastern Region have exceeded one million lease contracts, which represent 16% of the documented lease contracts in the cities of Saudi Arabia.
This growth in real estate activities in the region is attributed to its attractiveness for real estate investments and the various tourism, commercial, and residential factors it offers.
