The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment, launched on Monday the second phase of the “Investor Visitor” e-visa service, expanding its coverage from nearly 60 nations to include all countries worldwide.
According to information obtained by Asharq Al-Awsat, the government decided to exempt investors holding diplomatic or private passports from the visa fee, provided that they do not have official status.
The government stressed that the new service should not be exploited for other than commercial purposes, adding that the passport must be valid for at least six months.
The state also required the investors benefiting from the service to adhere to the main purpose of their visit and the regulations and instructions in force in the Kingdom, and to refrain from practicing paid or unpaid work or perform the Hajj pilgrimage except under a Hajj visa.
The Visiting Investor visa enables businessmen to travel to the Kingdom and explore the diverse and promising sectors, learn about the country’s natural resources, and its geographical and cultural location between the three continents of the world.
The e-visa service is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to align with the Vision 2030 initiative, with a focus on improving the investment environment and facilitating the start of business activities.
