The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (RITA), in partnership with the Korea National University of the Arts and with the participation of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, will display the confluence of Saudi-Korean Culture show between Nov. 26 and Nov. 28, 2023, SPA said on Wednesday.
The show is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and will be held in Red Hall at Princess Noura University Theater in Riyadh.
The Confluence of Culture Show is an exceptional artistic experience to be held by RITA, through hosting a country every year to introduce the common arts and integrate them through a different theatrical performance and an accompanying art exhibition.
The show begins with the story of the confluence of Saudi and Korean performers, then presents 5 Saudi performing arts and 5 Korean performing arts to deepen cultural and artistic knowledge.
The show concludes with performing art based on melodies combining the two cultures and presents 50 performers from RITA and the Performance Arts School at Korea National University of Arts.
The Saudi performance will reflect the cultural diversity of the Kingdom, which includes: Al-Samri, Al-Daha, Al-Liwa, Al-Khatwa, and Al-Khabiti.
The accompanying artistic display also includes integrating the traditional Saudi and Korean arts into tangible pieces of art within various crafts, such as: metals, pottery, woodwork, and hand embroidery.
The confluence of culture' show would contribute to enhancing the artistic movement and global cultural exchange in the Kingdom, as one of the RITA's initiatives to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
