The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has announced the second edition of the “AlUla, Wonder of Arabia” exhibition to be held in Beijing from January 5 to March 24, 2024. The exhibition aims to showcase the history and cultural heritage of the governorate.
The exhibition will be hosted at the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Chinese capital, according to SPA.
The exhibition will feature various pavilions, exhibits, as well as archaeological and heritage pieces found in the historical sites of AlUla. Additionally, it will introduce programs and initiatives aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to the vision of AlUla.
Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Governor of the RCU, stated that the exhibition’s opening signifies the strong cultural partnership and communication between the Saudi and Chinese peoples. He highlighted the commitment to sharing the heritage of AlUla with the world, enabling visitors to embark on a cultural and historical journey from the heart of the governorate to the world.
Following the success of the first edition in Paris, France, in 2019, this exhibition will present a wealth of archaeological pieces, including rare sculptures, pottery and engravings. Moreover, documentary films featuring this heritage will be presented.
The exhibition will also provide insights into the design vision of the "Journey Through Time" masterplan, offering an overview of historical sites, such as Dadan, Hegra Historical City, Qurh, and AlUla Old Town.
