Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has stressed the significance of consolidating friendly relations between the GCC and the United Kingdom in a way that contributes to serving shared interests.
Albudaiwi made the remarks on Thursday during his meeting with the Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Lord Tariq Ahmed in Riyadh.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the historical friendship and cooperation relations between the GCC and the UK in various fields, especially addressing the existing security challenges to achieve regional security and stability.
Albudaiwi stressed that the GCC countries are looking forward to the fourth round of negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement to be held in London in July.
He expressed hope that the results of the talks will lead to a Free Trade Agreement between the GCC countries and the UK.
