Qatar and the United Arab Emirates' respective embassies reopened on Monday to resume work after the two Gulf states agreed to restore diplomatic ties, Qatar's foreign ministry said.
The Qatari ministry said in a statement that starting Monday, Qatar’s embassy will reopen in Abu Dhabi, as will its consulate in Dubai. The UAE will reopen its embassy in Doha, the Arab News Agency reported.
The statement added that the decision stems from the outcomes of the AlUla summit, and out of both countries’ keenness to promote bilateral relations.
The restoration of ties “represents the will of both countries’ leaders to strengthen joint Arab collaboration and achieve the aspirations of both peoples,” the ministry added in a statement.
