Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Escalation in Palestinian Territories

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the "recent escalation" by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the “aggressive actions” in Jenin earlier Tuesday, which led to deaths and injuries.

The Ministry reaffirmed “Saudi Arabia's unequivocal rejection of the grave violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces.”

It extended its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Palestine, while also wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

Turkish FM Heads to Saudi Arabia to Discuss Bilateral, Regional Affairs

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for talks on bilateral relations and regional issues of common interest.

Turkish Foreign Ministry sources revealed that Fidan will meet with is Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah to discuss several significant files, starting with deepening ties and increasing the trade exchange between their countries.

Fidan will underscore the importance of the Turkish-Saudi Coordination Council that was established in 2016. It held its first meeting in Ankara in February 2017. The council is viewed as an important mechanism to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and to explore new domains for cooperation.

Prince Faisal had visited Türkiye in July 2024.

The sources added that Fidan will stress to Saudi officials the need to increase international pressure on Israel to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza and achieve sustainable peace.

He will also underline the importance of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in implementing the two-state solution in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Discussions will tackle the developments in Syria and the emphasize the need to raise international engagement with the country’s new rulers.

Fidan will stress the need for cooperation with Saudi Arabia to lift the sanctions on Syria that were imposed during the rule of ousted President Bashar al-Assad.

Talks may address the reconstruction of Syria through the cooperation of the Arab League, Gulf Cooperation Council, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, European Union, United States and regional and international agencies, said the sources.
