The Saudi government reiterated on Tuesday that the Kingdom will continue to pursue its efforts to support dialogue, tolerance and moderation and shun extremism.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Jeddah.
The government welcomed the United Nation Human Rights Council’s adoption of a draft resolution on “Countering Religious Hatred Constituting Incitement to Discrimination, Hostility, or Violence”.
The adoption of such a resolution has been urgently demanded by the Kingdom and several countries as it embodies respect for religions and cultures and consolidates humanitarian values that are protected by international laws.
The ministers were briefed on the messages sent by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to the presidents of South Africa and Central Africa.
They reviewed the outcomes of the official talks held between Crown Prince Mohammed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida earlier this week.
They hailed the signing of numerous agreements between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in various fields and the launch of the Lighthouse Initiative for Clean Energy Cooperation (Manar) with Japan.
The initiative will act as a beacon for other countries in developing strategies and plans to achieve their net-zero emission ambitions.
The cabinet underlined the Kingdom’s keenness on consolidating economic cooperation with various countries through stimulating the public and private sectors. It praised the outcomes of the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030 meeting, which resulted in the signing of 26 memorandums and agreements in vital economic sectors. It also praised the outcomes of the Saudi-Turkish Investment Forum, which resulted in the signing of nine memoranda of understanding in several fields.
The cabinet underscored the Kingdom’s position at the meetings of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons held in The Hague. It reiterated its firm policy and stance aimed at boosting cooperation to ban all forms of weapons of mass destruction and their proliferation.
The ministers reviewed the latest Arab and international developments, significantly efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in Sudan.
They also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s participation at the ministerial meeting of the Executive Council of Foreign Ministers of the African Union. They highlighted Riyadh’s leading role in promoting development and investment in Africa, stressing that it will continue to work with its partners to support all action that helps Africa progress and prosper.
