Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held on Saturday summit discussions in the Egyptian city of El Alamein.

The talks covered the regional and international updates, and the need for collective Arab work to face the challenges in the region.

Egyptian presidential spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said the two leaders highlighted "the strong and distinguished relations" between their countries.

They reviewed existing areas of cooperation and collaboration, especially in economy and development.

They discussed regional and international developments, agreeing on the importance of intensifying joint Arab action to confront the growing regional and global challenges.

They stressed their keenness on continuing close coordination at all levels, given the strong historic ties between their countries.

Sheikh Mohamed and Sisi had met in Cairo in April.

In May, the UAE International Investors Council (UAEIIC) signed an MoU with the Egyptian-Emirati Business Council (EEBC) to boost existing investment partnerships.

The MoU also aims at creating more investment opportunities in the sectors of the new economy, green projects, recycling, clean projects, the technological sector, new digital technologies and other areas of common interest to the business communities between the two countries.
