Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received Friday a call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, according to two separate statements from Washington and Riyadh.

“Blinken thanked Saudi Arabia for bringing together over 40 countries in Jeddah earlier this month to discuss the principles of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” said US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

The Secretary and Foreign Minister resolved to continue to work together to end the devastating conflict in Sudan, he stated.

“They also committed to redouble efforts to secure a lasting peace in Yemen through a UN-mediated Yemeni-Yemeni peace process,” Miller added.

Also, during the phone call, Prince bin Frarhan and Blinken tackled developments in Sudan, with both sides citing the importance of stopping the military escalation between the conflicting parties, ending violence and reducing tensions to ensure the security and stability of Sudan and its people, SPA reported.

The two sides then discussed intensifying coordination and bilateral work on many regional and international issues, foremost of which is the promotion of security and stability in the Middle East region and the efforts being exerted by the two allied countries to lay the foundations for peace in the region and the world at large.

A delegation from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) met on Sunday with officials from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Damascus.

The meeting was also attended by Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Syria Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Harees.

The meeting focused on shared priorities in relief and humanitarian efforts, specifically strategies to boost support and assistance for the Syrian people.

UNHCR officials praised the strategic partnership between KSrelief and UNHCR, emphasizing their collaborative efforts to support refugees and displaced individuals worldwide, ensuring they have access to a dignified life.

Earlier, the sixth relief plane, operated by the KSrelief left the King Khalid International Airport bound for Damascus International Airport, carrying food, shelter, and medical supplies.

The assistance provides help for the Syrian people in their critical circumstances and reaffirms Saudi Arabia's longstanding support for the brotherly and friendly countries in times of crisis.
