The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has announced that Saudi Arabia will host World Environment Day in 2024.
The announcement was made during a meeting held in Nairobi on Tuesday between UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen and Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Salman.
Holding World Environment Day in the Kingdom reflects the vital and effective role of the Saudi government in the environmental field, in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5, and over the past five decades, the day has developed into one of the largest global platforms for environmental awareness.
