Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met on Monday with his French counterpart Catherine Colonna on the sidelines of the Union for the Mediterranean Regional Forum in Barcelona.

They reviewed the situation in the Gaza Strip and its vicinity, emphasizing efforts toward a sustainable ceasefire to safeguard civilian protection and the imperative of solidifying the truce.

Additionally, they engaged in discussions on various mutual concerns aimed at bolstering security and stability in the Middle East and globally.

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to fully commit to protecting civilians and ensuring the application of the international law and humanitarian international law rules, and returning to the peace path in a way that guarantees the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state according to relevant international resolutions.

Prince Fasial also met with Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Albares for talks on Gaza.

Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, said on Tuesday that the Kingdom implemented a comprehensive security campaign that successfully dealt with drug-related crimes.
He said the campaign entailed coordinated security plans involving all concerned parties.
Dawood, who led the Kingdom's delegation to the 2nd Baghdad International Conference on Countering Narcotics 2024 held in Iraq on Monday, stressed the need to strengthen efforts among the participating nations to control the spread of narcotics and to discuss mechanisms to stop drug trafficking.
He emphasized that countering smuggling and drug trafficking fall in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 top priorities.
Dawood highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to dealing with the dangers posed by drugs to the security and stability of society by harnessing national capabilities to raise the society's awareness to this threat.
