Emir of Kuwait Names Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Deputy Emir

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah issued an order on Wednesday naming Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al Sabah as deputy emir when the emir is abroad, reported the Kuwait news agency (KUNA).

Sheikh Mishaal also signed a decree naming Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah to act as prime minister when the emir is abroad.

Qatar, Egypt Stress Coordination to Maintain Gaza Ceasefire

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held talks with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly on the margins of the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos.

They tackled cooperation between their countries and ways of strengthening and developing them, said Qatar's state news agency (QNA).

They discussed means of ensuring the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of detainees and prisoners.

Sheikh Mohammed underscored the continued coordination between Qatar and Egypt within the framework of joint mediation that guarantees that the parties implement the ceasefire.

They also reviewed the latest developments in Syria.
