The Saudi government praised on Tuesday the outcomes of the second meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) that was hosted by Riyadh.

It said the Kingdom’s support of SAR 100 million for the IMCTC Fund for Financing Initiatives is a testament to its approach and commitment to spreading values of moderation and rejecting violence and extremism.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The ministers were briefed on the talks he held with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah, who visited the Kingdom last week. They were also briefed on the official talks Sheikh Mishal held with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait underscored the strength of the fraternal relations that bind them and stressed their shared goal to deepen cooperation in all fields and maintain coordination and consultations on issues of mutual interest.

Media Minister Salman Al-Dosari said the cabinet reviewed the talks and meetings held between Saudi Arabia and several countries over the past week.

The cabinet hailed the announcement that the Kingdom will host the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the United Nation Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in December.

It said this was an important step in bolstering cooperation to find effective solutions to reduce land degradation and the effects of drought around the world.
