The Muslim World League (MWL) has held an international conference in Sarajevo to promote peace and coexistence.

In his opening remarks, Zeljko Komsic, chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscored the significance of the conference, praising the unprecedented diversity in attendance and participation. The focus of the event was promoting tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

The conference - held in cooperation with the parliament of Bosnia - was attended by senior political figures, both parliamentary and governmental, religious leaders, and representatives of civil society.

The Secretary-General of the MWL, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, lauded the harmony and solidarity demonstrated by the Balkan model, highlighting its ability to draw lessons from history.

He also commended the model's awareness and wisdom in decision-making on crucial issues.

Al-Issa stressed that the Balkan model symbolizes a chapter of civilization oriented towards the future and the well-being of future generations, transcending challenges and difficulties.

The secretary-general further stressed that the Balkan model serves as an inspirational example for others, drawing lessons from its history and avoiding the painful consequences of religious, ethnic, and partisan conflicts.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior emphasized on Monday that Hajj and Umrah service companies and establishments must strictly abide by all related regulations and instructions in the Kingdom.

It announced that fines will be imposed on any company or establishment serving pilgrims and Umrah performers that delays reporting individuals who remain in the Kingdom beyond their authorized stay to the relevant authorities.

Fines can reach SAR100,000 (USD26,000) and will be multiplied based on the number of individuals who violate their departure deadlines.
