Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, held on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz the annual reception of heads of state, Islamic figures, and government officials, who performed the Hajj this year, at the Mina palace.

He congratulated the gatherers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. He added that Saudi Arabia was proud in organizing the Hajj every year, stressing its keenness on ensuring that the pilgrims perform the rituals safely and securely.

He noted that Eid was observed as the “heinous crimes continue to be committed against our brothers in the Gaza Strip.”

“We underscore the need for an immediate end to this assault and the importance of the international community mobilizing to take all measures that protect lives in Gaza,” he added.

Crown Prince Mohammed called for implementing the recent United Nations Security Council on a ceasefire in Gaza, reiterating Saudi Arabia’s call on the international community to recognize an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 border with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Rio de Janeiro on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

The two officials reviewed relations and discussed regional and international developments.

During Tuesday’s meeting, the ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Saudi-Brazilian Coordination Council, building on the agreement reached between the two countries' leaders during Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's visit to Saudi Arabia on November 30, 2023.

Director-General of the Office of the Foreign Minister Abdulrahman Aldawood and Saudi Ambassador to Brazil Dr. Faisal bin Ibrahim Ghulam were in attendance.
