Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has met in Riyadh with Advisor to the French President for the Middle East and North Africa, Anne-Claire Legendre.

During the meeting on Thursday, they reviewed Saudi-French relations, ways to strengthen them in various fields, and the latest regional developments, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting was attended by Prince Saad bin Mansour Al Saud, Director General of the General Department for European Affairs at the Foreign Ministry.

Also Thursday, Prince Faisal received a written message from Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti Mahmoud Ali Youssouf pertaining to bilateral relations and ways to support and enhance them in various fields.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji received the message during his meeting in Riyadh with Djibouti’s Ambassador Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and topics of common interest.

Air defense forces in the Gulf states thwarted a new wave of Iranian strikes on their territories, intercepting ballistic missiles and drones targeting residential areas and vital infrastructure.

The Saudi defenses downed 11 drones over the Eastern Province and tracked three ballistic missiles targeting Riyadh, intercepting one of them while the others fell harmlessly in an uninhabited area.

In Qatar, a helicopter crash caused by a technical fault killed seven people, three Qataris and four Turks, during a mission in territorial waters.

In the UAE, the country’s defenses intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones. While Bahrain intercepted two Iranian missiles and two drones.

Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority filed an official complaint with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), condemning Iran’s violations and breaches of the country’s sovereignty.

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, rejected Iran’s hostile actions, describing them as a blatant violation of international law and norms. He added that Iranian claims seeking to hold GCC member states responsible for any military operations are “unfounded and categorically rejected”.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a phone call from Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Ronald Lamola, the Saudi Press Agency said on Sunday.

During the call, the two officials discussed the latest developments in the region and the international efforts being made in this regard.

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to Qatar and Türkiye over the victims of the helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

On Sunday, seven people have been confirmed killed in a helicopter crash belonging to the Qatari Ministry of Defense due to a technical malfunction during a routine mission.

Four of those killed ⁠were Qatari armed forces ‌personnel, ‌one was from the Qatar-Türkiye ‌joint forces and ‌two were technicians, according to the Turkish and Qatari defense ministries.

Albudaiwi also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon them and grant their families patience and solace.
