The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the ongoing brutal massacres carried out by the Israeli occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people. The most recent atrocity occurred in the Al-Mawasi neighbourhood in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, resulting in the death and injury of numerous people.
In a statement on Sunday, the Arab Parliament denounced the ongoing acts of the occupying entity, which include committing massacres, genocide, and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, SPA reported. This flagrant defiance of international resolutions and laws, particularly international humanitarian law, undermines various countries' truce negotiations and ceasefire efforts to end the aggression.
It also urged the international community, the Security Council, and influential nations to take up their responsibilities and exert pressure on the oppressive occupation entity to stop its genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people.
The Arab Parliament has urged for the prosecution of those responsible for these massacres and crimes as war criminals. It has also called for international protection for Palestinian civilians and the prompt delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip to alleviate the dire situation and prevent famine.
For his part, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi strongly condemned the brutal bombardment by the Israeli occupation forces on the Al Mawasi area, stressing that this shelling is evidence of the series of systematic and ongoing Israeli crimes against the brotherly Palestinian people.
Moreover, the Sec-Gen stated that the Israeli occupation forces, through their crimes against the defenceless Palestinian people, have become unrecognized by any principles, laws or treaties, whether at the legal, humanitarian or moral level.
He said that the continued arrogance of the Israeli occupation forces and the commission of heinous crimes against the lives of innocent people requires the international community to immediately assume its responsibilities to stop these violations and hold their perpetrators accountable.
Furthermore, Albudaiwi reiterated the steadfast positions of the GCC states towards the Palestinian cause as the central and primary issue for Arabs and Muslims and support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of international legitimacy.
