Saudi Arabia Reiterates Strong Support for Sudan

Saudi Arabia reiterated on Tuesday its unwavering support for Sudan and its people.

Speaking at the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Majed bin Khothaila emphasized the need to protect Sudan and its people from further destruction and the worsening humanitarian situation.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the protection of civilians and aid workers and ensuring the safety of humanitarian corridors for the delivery of essential aid.

Saudi Arabia urged the prioritization of the interests of the people and halting of the conflict to safeguard state institutions and lead Sudan to safety.

Saudi Arabia pointed to its hosting of the Jeddah talks between the parties involved in the Sudanese crisis and underscored its commitment to achieving a cessation of hostilities through political dialogue.

Furthermore, it called on the international community to commit to protecting Sudan and its people and working to restore security and stability, welcoming international efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace in the country.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, made a phone call on Friday to Morocco's King Mohammed VI.

According to SPA, during the talks, the Crown Prince checked on the king's health and wished him continued good health and well-being.
The king of Morocco expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for the call and kind wishes.
