The Arab League convened an extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates to address the repercussions of the Israeli Knesset’s illegal decision to ban the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, SPA reported.
The session was held at the request of Jordan, in coordination with Egypt and the State of Palestine, and with the support of several Arab countries. Saudi Arabia was represented at the meeting by its Permanent Representative to the Arab League Abdulaziz Al-Matar.
The meeting is expected to issue a statement reaffirming the unified Arab stance rejecting Israel’s illegal measures against UNRWA.
