Saudi Arabia, along with Oman, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, and several other Arab and Islamic nations, officially announced that Saturday would be the first day of Ramadan. This decision came after the sighting of the crescent moon on Friday evening.
In a statement, the Saudi Supreme Court declared that Saturday, March 1, 2025, corresponds to the first day of Ramadan 1446 AH.
The court extended its congratulations to Saudi King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and all citizens, residents, and Muslims worldwide. It prayed for peace, unity, and security for the country.
The moon sighting was confirmed by Saudi astronomical observatories under clear skies, with widespread media coverage of the process.
