The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) to enhance cooperation in the space sector. The agreement was signed at the SSA’s headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of CEO Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi and KASA Administrator Yoon Young-bin, along with several officials from both sides, SPA reported.
The MoU aims to support and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two entities by establishing a framework for implementing collaborative activities and programs in space-related fields. These include deep space technologies, manned spaceflight programs, satellite launches and payloads, space science and engineering capacity-building, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise in advanced space applications.
The memorandum seeks to foster cooperation in space activities by facilitating the exchange of information and technologies, contributing to the development of national competencies and capabilities, and enhancing research and technical advancements in this vital sector. It will also help create an attractive investment environment in the space industry, supporting the development of the space economy and elevating the international status of both countries.
Dr. Al-Tamimi emphasized that the memorandum is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to boost international cooperation in the space sector, noting that the agency values global partnerships as a cornerstone for advancing space technologies and fostering the growth of the space economy.
