OIC Secretary-General Welcomes France's Intention to Recognize State of Palestine

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of France’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine, SPA reported.

Taha described this prospective move as an important development consistent with the principles of international law and an extension of France's long-standing support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Taha further stressed that France's announcement would significantly contribute to strengthening the political and legal status of the State of Palestine on the international stage.

He called on all states that have not yet recognized Palestine to follow suit and to support its attainment of full membership in the United Nations.

Saudi Arabia condemned in the strongest terms the repeated heinous Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. The ministry renewed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of Iran’s violation of the sovereignty of brotherly countries and its continued threat to the security and stability of the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.

The Kingdom reaffirmed that these attacks violate UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), regarding the immediate cessation of all attacks launched by Iran against countries of the region.

It stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of brotherly countries and adhering to international resolutions and laws. The Kingdom also reaffirmed that these violations undermine international efforts to restore security and stability in the region.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a phone call on Thursday from Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Saudi Press Agency said.

During the call, the two sides discussed the latest regional developments and condemned the Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, as well as the continued threats to maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

They also reviewed the efforts being made to restore security and stability, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and joint action to de-escalate tensions and mitigate the negative repercussions of the crisis at both the regional and international levels.

The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the repeated Iranian aggression against Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.

In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa renewed his condemnation of the repeated Iranian attacks, describing them as criminal acts that violate religious values, international law, and humanitarian norms, and undermine efforts to restore security and stability in the region.

He reaffirmed the MWL's solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, and support for measures taken by the three countries to protect their security, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
