The Saudi government reiterated on Tuesday the Kingdom’s support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at peacefully resolving the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in NEOM.

The cabinet welcomed the summit US President Donald Trump held with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday and the one he held with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders on Monday.

On regional developments, the cabinet strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements about his vision of the so-called “greater Israel,” underlining its categorical rejection of Israel’s settlement and expansionist plans.

It stressed the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state on their land in line with the relevant international laws.

Moreover, the cabinet strongly condemned Israel's approval to build settlements around the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council permanent members, “to take immediate measures to compel Israeli authorities to halt their crimes against the Palestinian people and their occupied land, and to comply with UN resolutions.”

Crown Prince Mohammed briefed the ministers on his telephone talks with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as well as on the message he received from Sierra Leone’s President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19, the cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts since its founding in supporting humanity and its development based on firm principles derived from Islam and its values. This has allowed it to establish a leading standing among the world’s largest donor countries.

With the new academic year approaching, the cabinet reviewed the recent achievements in the education sector, including curriculum development, raising the professional level of teachers, integrating artificial intelligence into education, expanding technical training, efforts to identify and support talented students, and creating learning environments that foster creativity and innovation.
