Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi has strongly condemned the targeting of a humanitarian convoy in North Darfur, Sudan, SPA reported.
He stressed the urgent need to protect civilians and humanitarian personnel from the consequences of conflict, calling for strict adherence to international humanitarian law, which prohibits the targeting of aid convoys and relief operations.
He also noted that targeting aid convoys constitutes a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, severely undermining efforts to achieve security and stability in Darfur and across Sudan.
